Well they say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, well I judged my entire career from the get-go until I heard the words “Your book is accepted for publication”.
That was on March 9th, 2020, fast forward to March 9th, 2021, 1 year in a pandemic, 2 books in the bucket and a third on the cusp of publication. Well for a small town guy in a wheelchair, you can say I hesitated very much during the process of becoming a published author.
Well again, one year later those hesitations are gone and I am very content with my career choice.
They say you don’t have to worry about what people will think about your first publication, well I was on the verge of tears as I allowed my sister to read the rough draft of my first book before sending it to the publisher for approval. Sweating bullets like a B-52 missile, I sat and allowed my words to be viewed by someone I trusted and I immediately felt relief as I was given the “hug of approval” Boy what a feeling that was.
As I said, one year and 2 books later, I’m still just an author on wheels but I now have a better understanding of what an author truly goes through when publishing his first book.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for joining me on this epic journey over the past year, your love and support means more to me than you will ever know.
I look forward to celebrating next March as a published author of 2 years and 3+books.
God bless you all and again thank you.
