Sometimes our writing is hindered by the rain clouds in our writing brain when we try to write anything. I can tell you this from experience because sometimes I’ll sit down to write and its like every office in my brain checked out for the weekend but it’s 10:26am on a Thursday!

It’s kind of like riding on a double decker bus without a roof on a cliffside during a Category 6 hurricane with an extra order of double wind.

Well today it’s time to put on your rain coat, your galoches and get that big black umbrella because today’s walk is on the wild side, we’re discussing “Rain Cloud Writing”

O.K., brief science lesson, rain happens when moisture in the clouds builds up so much that it has no where to go so it turns into rain drops and falls from the clouds causing the weather system you have learned to have a love/hate relationship with. If you need a further demonstration rain, just click off my blog right now and go binge watch your 6th grade bow tie wearing best friend Mr. Bill Nye.

Today I’m going to give you some helpful tips to hopefully turn those ugly rain clouds into a beautiful sunshiny rainbow.

First off here’s something to think about, if there’s rain in your writing, chances are you’re in a pattern of the wet stuff in real life. As I type this blog, it is steadily raining and it’s allowing my brain to think and be creative enough to write this topic.

So lets get on with these tips before my friend Rain decides to rain on my parade of writing and send my computer to hyperspace.

1. Clearing out the rain is simply waiting for the storm to subside and pass on, there’s nothing you can really do except let it run it’s course.

2. Keep the rain away by writing more motivational topics unless it is a topic that cannot be held back then in that case refer back to point 1.

3. Give the rain a chance to wash out your brain and clear out the clutter inside it.

4. Rain may be your best friend but sometimes it might intensify to be your worst enemy, so be careful if it gets too rough, step back and re-evaluate.

5. Rain helps in the end to clear out the junk, refer to point 3 and move on about your day of writing.

And there you have it, 5 tips on keeping the rain away or allowing it to help you, the choice is yours on what you do with the opportunity.
