You have light shades of color and dark shades of color, in the video discussing this topic I was wearing the color brown in various hues and shades ranging from chocolate colored trousers to cocoa colored shoes, mixed brown colored bow tie and I balanced that out with a plain white shirt. These shades not only work in harmony but they also go with other colors that will be discussed in this series.

I’m putting a color scale for browns in the article below, let’s discuss these colors and how they correlate to writing.

First off let’s discuss the lighter shades:

White, Cream, Ecru and Taupe (I’ll mention taupe in the next section so get ready) This section is for baby beginners, writers with LESS THAN ONE YEAR of experience and no formal training or they are self taught and still learning, this was me a year ago.

Taupe, light cocoa and muddled chocolate: These writers are experienced, still learning, maybe have some sort of training but they are still learning.

Finally the creme de la creme, DARK CHOCOLATE AND BEYOND If you’re a lover of dark chocolate than you’re definitely a lover of writing. You’re in this section because my friend you are so experienced, you laugh at those who don’t ask you for help. You also want to help others get to where you are now but not in such a snobby way that you get kicked in the groin just asking to give advice.

That concludes part one of our mini series on Different Shades of Writing, our next discussion color will be yellow gold so be ready.
