In the spirit of the approaching holidays, I have been able to review not just one but TWO separate Christmas movies from the Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown To Christmas” line-up which aired on October 22nd, 2021.

“You, Me and the Christmas Trees”

The first movie in the line-up was titled: “You, Me and the Christmas Trees” starring Danica McKellar, Benjamin Ayres and Jason Hervey just to name a few.
McKellar plays Olivia, an expert in trees called by Jack played by Benjamin Ayres to investigate why his family’s Christmas tree crop is dying.

Jack has an unfortunate interaction with Olivia when their two cars are involved in a slight accident resulting in the exchange of information of the two not-so-likely partners.
Later on Jason finds out that Olivia is the expert hired by Jason’s father to investigate the mysterious death of his family’s business of selling live Christmas trees.

Well as the movie progresses we see more than just business between the two characters and by the conclusion of the film they are inseparable and they live in joy and peace.

My take-away from this movie is no matter what happens during the holidays, there’s always a silver lining to every situation and by the end, the mystery of the dying trees was solved.

The next movie I will be reviewing is called “Christmas Next Door” which aired immediately after “You, Me and the Christmas Trees”

“Christmas Next Door” aired in December 2017 so it’s not brand new but it’s new to me.

This movie stars Jesse Metcalfe, Fiona Gubelmann and Brittany Bristow.

The main characters Eric (Metcalfe) and April (Gubelmann) respectively are the main two characters shown throughout the entire film.

Eric (Metcalfe) is what is titled an MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) author who is forced to take care of his niece and nephew during the holidays which he is not very happy about, and April (Gubelmann) is portrayed as a “Christmas freak” which is the polar opposite of Metcalfe’s character Eric who I will label in this article as “Modern Day Mr. Grinch”

Eric wants nothing to do with Christmas in the beginning of the movie, he’s more interested in getting his latest book ready for publishing.

Well, his Christmas loving neighbor (Gubelmann) tries her best to put the Christmas spirit back into Eric (Metcalfe).

The one question that comes to my mind is “Will the publisher take Eric’s book?”

My suggestion is: Pop some popcorn, pour a drink, sit down and get ready for two incredible movies, AuthorOnWheels rates both films “10 wheels out of 10”
